The Assassination of an Elementary School Principle in Mosul and Threats to Christians to Leave the City

Today in Mosul , the principle of Al-Khassaniya elementary school, Wa'ad Al-Qattan [an Assyrian Christian], was assassinated while shopping in one of the shops of the Al-Jadeeda Mosul quarter in the southern part of the city.

According to a Christian in the area, the school, which is in the same neighborhood, has many Christian students and therefore subject of Christian Religion is taught in the school.

It is worth mentioning that in this area, there is also a small monastery containing a school for nuns, which has been attacked eight times in the past few years.

Meanwhile, some unidentified Muslims have placed a list, containing the names of many Christians from Mosul, on the walls of Al-Radhi Mosque in the Mansour district of Mosul, which is on the road leading to Baghdad the names of a number Christians, plus threats that if Christians will be killed unless they leave for Syrian or futher north in Iraq.
