Kholo Malke on the way to Germany

A new movie titled 'Kholo Malke in slavery', does not tell the story of the author's life or the history of a peaceful people caught in a whirlwind of inhumanity , suffering cruel massacres at the hands of the barbarians, driven out of their homeland where they had lived for thousands of years, now scattered to the four corners of the world. Instead it is partially a dramatization of a novel in a different context. A great Assyrian novel by Schmuel Beth Qullia titled 'Journey of the priest Slivo to heaven'.

It is the story of an Assyrian priest who finds a way to ride his donkey to heaven hoping he will be allowed in because he is a righteous Christian. but he is told he has to wait until he is dead before decision can made if he deserves to enter. Along the way he exposes the falsehood and the superstition of those who prevent him from entering the Paradise. The film is a satirical look at the hidden fantasies and thoughts of those who leave their ancient homeland to live in exile and how their lives do not turn out the way they imagined. Kholo Malke fascinates the viewers by bringing up various subjects, attitudes and manners of thinking.
